Below you will find some very brief tutorial videos on how to use our Splatter site for this course. Refer to them as needed.
Intro to Splatter
This video just offers a brief introduction to the site and what we are using it for.
Signing-up to Post
Before you can fully use Splatter, you have to “register” on the site. It’s really easy and this video shows you how.
The Side Bar
The side bar on the site is hugely important, as it contains essential information for our course.
Posting to the “Open Conversation” (formerly “Status Updates”)
Each week, you’ll have to post a number of open conversation posts (i.e. status updates) regarding your reading and thinking for the course. This video shows you how.
Posting Weekly “Reading/Research Journal” Entries
(formerly “Notes and Quotes”)
Each week, you’ll have to post a “Reading/Research Journal” piece (I used to call these “Notes and Quotes”), sharing a bit of your ongoing research for this course with the class. This video shows you how.
Posting Major Writing Assignments
You will use Splatter to turn in your major writing for the course and to make it available for peer review. Watch the video below for more information.
The Dashboard: An Easier Way to Write Longer Pieces
There is an easier way to write longer pieces (like your major writing for the course) on Splatter. This video shows you how.
Replying to Others (Peer Review)
During our peer review weeks or just as a part of our ongoing conversation, replying to each other’s posts is essential, and it’s a breeze. Check out the video.
